Greenwood Foundation · Independent Nonprofit Steward

The un-deplatformable foundation for the digital Black Wall Street.

The Greenwood Foundation is an independent nonprofit dedicated to the stewardship, governance, and long-term development of the Greenwood Blockchain — a sovereign Layer-1 engineered for underrepresented, highly intelligent creators and engineers. Native on-chain hosting. IPv6-first peer transport. Proof of Transport consensus. Infrastructure that cannot be confiscated, altered, or pulled out from underneath the community it serves.

The thesis

Structural inclusion over speculative throughput.

Legacy Layer-1s optimize marginal throughput while funneling value to early-stage venture capital. The barrier to global financial equity was never latency — it is systemic lack of access, un-censorable hosting, and direct economic inclusion.

Greenwood is the programmatic resurrection of the 1921 Greenwood district: an architectural baseline that cannot be confiscated, altered, or pulled out from underneath the community. The Greenwood Foundation exists to guarantee that baseline stays open, neutral, and permissionless — governed by the community it serves, not by any single company or investor.

Mission

Stewardship, governance, and long-term development of the Greenwood Blockchain.

The Foundation develops the protocol, coordinates governance, supports the validator ecosystem, funds public infrastructure, and promotes adoption of the Greenwood Network for developers, institutions, researchers, and builders worldwide. It does not operate commercial businesses and does not exist to maximize profits for any private party — its responsibility is to preserve the long-term health of the Greenwood ecosystem.

The protocol

Built for un-deplatformable infrastructure

Native L1 hosting

Application frontends and assets live directly on-chain. No AWS. No corporate cloud. No deplatforming vector.

Proof of Transport

Consensus rewards are bound to verified data delivery and real-world network contribution, not speculation.

Sovereign payment rails

Program financial logic, issue tokenized real-world assets, and route liquidity without predatory middlemen.

IPv6-first p2p

Publicly routable IPv6 across every node eliminates NAT traversal and STUN/TURN dependence.

WASM sandbox

AssemblyScript compiled to WASM guarantees identical execution across heterogeneous validator hardware.

JSON ledger

Blocks stored in human-readable JSON, wire-serialized with Protobuf. Radical, auditable transparency.

What Greenwood is

A Layer-1 protocol for high-performance decentralized computing

Infrastructure for smart contracts, digital assets, identity, payments, AI infrastructure, event systems, supply chains, data availability, tokenized real-world assets, and developer platforms. Applications are built on Greenwood without requiring permission from the Foundation.

What the Foundation does

The Foundation serves as the protocol steward

Maintaining the protocol specification, funding ecosystem development, coordinating governance, supporting validator operations, publishing standards, and maintaining documentation. The Foundation does not control applications built on Greenwood.

Initial launch objectives

Where the Foundation starts

01Establish nonprofit governance
02Publish the Greenwood protocol specification
03Release the protocol under an open-source license
04Launch the initial reference node
05Publish validator requirements
06Release developer documentation
07Establish the first governance framework
08Build the initial validator community
09Begin ecosystem development
10Expand toward decentralized governance over time

Build on an unshakeable foundation.
